HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
As with every new year, each one of us will reflect on events that have transpired over the last 12 months. We review our last year’s resolutions and many may be disappointed in the lack of achievement. Here I sit in the same boat, kicking myself for not doing all the things I “planned” on doing. I am, however, happy to feel more at peace than the year before.
I always start off with such high hopes every January...always giving it my best jump-start. Get healthy; get organized; spend less money/save more…yada yada yada.
Normally, I try not to make a New Year’s resolution list because of my failure rate, but secretly I have one or two "improvements" I do think about each year. We are all such over achievers, and when it doesn’t “happen”, we feel disappointed in ourselves. But why be disappointed? Of course we fail. We make a list of what we would like to change. The list is always far too long with little to no plan of attack – no deadlines, no agenda. It is no wonder that most resolutions are long forgotten before January is even over.
Let’s not beat ourselves up over it. Instead, reflect on all you have accomplished! And then, if you are still prone to adding a new goal for 2014, own it! Let it be as grand or as practical as you want it to be. Pick one thing, plot out the steps it will take to get there, make sure you add a deadline to each step, and then go for it!
For me, I am going to stick with just being happy with what positive things happened last year and leave it at that. The last few years have been stressful and I want to enjoy the positive moments of 2013.
Appreciate what has happened, enjoy the present, accept life as it comes, and stop stressing over the future.
Maybe that should be my resolution! LOL
"We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential." Ellen Goodman, Pulitzer Prize winning columnist.
Happy New Year! May you all find peace in your hearts, laugher in your souls, and the wisdom to appreciate the “now”.

BTW - Have the new camera - need to figure out how it works now :)
