JANUARY FREEZE
I can't remember the last time it's been this cold outside. The bitter cold is almost painful and I start to get a headache just thinking about my heating bill! Here's hoping you are all home snug and cozy....and hopefully heathy.
Our house has been struggling with a cold and cough that we can't seem to shake. Just as we start feeling better, it rears its ugly head again. It could be worse......no flu or stomach bug.....just a nasty, evil cold, which turned now into pneumonia (lucky me!) Thankfully, Julia has been happy and healthy. Just Jeff and I playing "tag-your it" with this illness.
I am sitting here in my PJs watching G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.....(I know, terrible movie, but come on ladies, Channing Tatum! Good Lord!). Thought I would post some photos of the amazing gifts I received over the holidays from my talented friends.
Becca from Seasons Art / Magikal Seasons sent me these incredible pieces. I about screamed with excitement when I opened the package. The Christmas ornies will add the perfect whimsey to my tree next year. I already have one of her Peppermint Candy ornaments, and the Gingerbread Girl and Snowman have moved me into a full-fledged Becca collector!
This snowman is HUGE! |
Sooooooooooo cute! |
She also sent along this beyond-amazing Halloween ornament........love, love, love! Look at all the cool details! Thank you Becca!
Love the grungy safety pin mouth. |
I also received a surprise package from one of the sweetest chicks on the planet....my Flickr friend Mary. She made this intricate egg diorama with Santa (who else!). My favorite new item to add to my growing Santa addiction.
My picture doesn't do it justice. |
This egg is real people! No plastic egg for her and from what she says, she broke a few along the way trying to craft these beauties. Check out her Flickr site to see some of the other designs, along with her nifty thrift shop vintage finds. Oh, to shop with Mary is high on my Bucket List - that girl finds everything!
She also sent along a whole package of vintage tags and a Santa Money Bag.
I'm thinking of making a similar pattern with this guy as my inspiration. Would be a fun felt project, minus the zipper .....sewing zippers is not my specialty. |
And, because she is to flippin' sweet, she always remembers to send along something for Julia. This was the only picture I could get before she ran off with her stash.......how cute is her new panda bear hat and blue gloves!
No word of a lie, this girl wears this hat to school everyday. I could never get anything on her head, until now! Thank you Mary!
Stay healthy everyone!
Chow for now,
Cyndi

DeleteHi Cyndi,
ReplyDeleteBack in October 2011 I pinned your Little
Black Kitty on my Pinterest. Today Tandra Boyer commented on the little darling. She
is asking where she can purchase your creative artwork? Thought maybe you would like to contact her.
Best Wishes,
Bobbie
Thanks Bobbie for the Pinterest pin & the heads-up! I will definitely drop her a line. And thanks for stopping by!
