My FIRST GIVE-AWAY Alert !
Many of you know that blogging is a very new experience for me. I have truly enjoyed the experience and now wonder why I waited so long to join in the fun. I want to celebrate the holiday season by having my first Give-Away but I wanted it to be something special....something meaningful. (More on that in a bit.)
Since so many of you have made lovely comments about my vintage holiday domes, I have decided to keep this one off my Etsy site and share him.
Now more on the “meaningful” part. I originally was going to offer up a hand-molded paper mache piece (and I still will before the month is out – hint, hint) but the FIRST Give-Away had to feel “special” to me.
Christmas is about our family and friends, our faith, our traditions, and nothing sums up the season more for me than a glittery gold, vintage, dancing Santa. Gold Santas. Not red, not green, GOLD!
How strange, you say? Why?
Because these were the most glorious, shiny, magical, cutest things I ever saw when I was a child (and they still are to me). My mom tucked these away in every corner of the house and there was always one sitting in the fresh poinsettia plant on the dining room table. I sat for hours staring at him in the glistening light of the Christmas tree.
So, with that long winded story said, what better way to send out some of my family holiday spirit than to send you a vintage, bedazzling boogie-boy Santa dome! HOHOHO.
I hand-molded the mushrooms at his feet from paper clay, and covered his snowy base in mica and glitter…or should I say “glitta” for us Massachusetts girls.
Oh goodness…..stop talking and give the details on how to win, right???!!!
1. Leave me a comment and you get one chance.
And please share with me what your favorite holiday decoration or ornament is. I love hearing your stories.
2. Follow me and you get another chance.
3. If you decide to share this Give-Away information on your blog, you will get a 3rd chance.
Good luck everyone. I will pick the winner's name on Friday, the 10th.
Till later,
Cyndi

Congratulations to you Cyndi! I think there are many who are so happy you have a blog. A chance to see your creative process. Thank you for sharing your Santa story. Stories are what I love best! I adore my childhood Peanuts ornaments. Too fragile to continue hanging, my own children had a plastic set. I love that to this day my daughter always "steals" Sally away from her brother's set. An ongoing rivalry, I just love it! Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute! This definitely reminds me of being a child in the late 60's and early 70's. Great memories!
ReplyDeleteThanks for having a giveaway of your sweet Santa!
ReplyDeleteI love my vintage glass ornaments that I have collected and a pink brush bottle tree that was my Grandma's..that I will show soon.
Deb :)

ReplyDeleteHi Cyndi!
ReplyDeleteI added you to my sidebar, and I am a follower. I love this Santa! Did I mention that already? LOL!! Happy weekend, my friend!
LOVE Massachusetts! The New England area is where I think I'd most love to live, except for the cold! It's so pretty and inspiring there.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower and pretty much new to blogging, just like you. It's opened up a whole new world for a SAHM who was getting a mushy brain from being with 2 little ones for 7 years straight!
Thanks for the story. They always make art more special.
Jill
Hi Cyndi! I'm so glad you decided to join the blogging fun! What a magical Santa! My favorite ornaments are the glass blown Snowmen I've gotten as gifts. Can't pick just one oh and the old vintage pinecone snowmen. Ok do you see where I'm going babbling on and on. I follow too! :) Becca
ReplyDeleteHe's such a joyful little spirit! I'd love to be entered for a chance to have him come live with me. :) My favorite holiday ornament(s) are the ones my friends, my husband and I all made to put on our tree for our very first Christmas. There's a wild variety of characters and themes and styles and each one is so special to me.
ReplyDeleteOh! I forgot to mention, I'm now following your blog!
ReplyDeleteCOngrats on your blog. And what a sweet giveaway !!! I LOVE family traditions, so sweet to just sit and remember. I have a sweet little angel musical figure that plays silent night. As kids my brother and I always had little trees in our rooms and I had my angel. So I remember just laying there in bed in the soft glow of the litte christmas tree listening to silent night and watching the angel slowly spin. Sooo every year I bring out the angel and set her next to the tree. Funny the little things that bring us so much joy right :)???
ReplyDeleteMerry christmas to you :)
xoxoxoxo Terrie
ps haven't gotten around to snowman shakers yet but still hope too :)

Hola Cyndi
ReplyDeleteAntes he pasado por tu blog, pero he pensado que al ser española igual si ganas te cuesta mas mandar el regalo.
Si te parece bien me encantaria participar en tu sorteo.
Has hecho un trabajo precioso.
besitos ascension
WOW! I was afraid I wouldn't have anyone join in my Give-Away. I had First Give-Away Jitters.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you all here!!!! What fun!I love all your stories. Thanks for sharing. I hope more join the party.
I have a similar Santa on my tree. The original came as a part of a flower arrangement. This one would be SO awesome in my collection! I love old fashioned glitter houses and some cheesy wooden elves from my childhood. It wouldn't be Christmas without them!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite holiday decoration is a candle holder my son made for me a couple of years ago. It's crude and childlike & colorful & I love it! Thanks for hosting.

Oh, cute cute!!!!! He is so wonderful Cyndi! I've been a follower for awhile, so now I just need to post about this and will let you know when I do.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament, gosh, there are several, some I made for the family over the years, but others, collectibles to replace the ones that were stolen from us when I was a teenager. One was an Italian indent 3D ornament with a manger scene, another a Shiny Brite ornament with a Silent Night Stencil design, another a glittery glass glow in the dark ornament that is very rare.
What a cute little Santa! When I was little, my Mom had this plastic Santa with a sleigh and reindeer, and I always played with that - so I understand how some things stay with you and have special meaning.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite ornaments now is an old world Santa ornament, carved from wood. I also have added the lovely Santa you made up on my fireplace mantel and he looks quite at home! Thank you! :)
I'm a follower now too! :)
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and would love to participate in your giveaway! My favorite ornament is a take off on vintage snow babies. It is a newer version. A baby sitting in a swan and both have been glittered and sparkle so much!!
ReplyDeletePopping in from the hive. Now a follower!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win. Love the holiday glitz here!! ~Theresa
Christmas season is such a wonderful time of year. I love all of the decorations and vibrant colors to it all. My favorite decorations are all handmade by friends, family and online artists I've discovered through the years. I love decorating my home with them all and enjoy the smiles they bring to all who see them. I do have one very special ornament of a snowman that was given to me by my neighbors granddaughter. She put her heart into making it and I will treasure it always.

Hello Cyndi,
ReplyDeletea wonderful give away. I love all the magic your mind comes up with.
My favorite ornament is our oldest child' baby's first Christmas. It reminds me of when we were first starting out. Our dreams were new. Now 33 years later we have 8 baby's first Christmas ornaments on our tree. It is a reminder of how great our GOD has been to us.
I follow via Google.
Blessings to you,
Shelley

Santa goes Elvis! That's the first thing I thought of when I saw your latest creation. Everything about it screams Retro Vegas Christmas. I can actually see it on my uncle's barn right next to the highball glasses and Sinatra/Dean Martin Records!
